News today of Scotland's new FREE global TV channel Braw TV has finally been announced by producers from Glasgow following delays due to the coronavirus pandemic which had previously stalled the project.

The new channel, which will combine traditional and digital to connect global audiences with new TV content produced in Scotland, will see it's official media launch on 2nd October 2022 - which is the anniversary of the first ever TV broadcast almost 100 years ago by Scottish enterpreneur John Logie Baird in 1925. The roll-out of services will include a dedicated app, interactive live events across Scotland and a host of new teasers for shows for the channel, such as THE AUTHORS SERIES, PEOPLE OF GLASGOW and NATURAL SCOTLAND, which will each be produced by partnership with leading world brands and local businesses to be fully interactive.

With several unique features to accompany the projects, Braw TV's platform - which will include a 24/7 channel as well as interactive services via the app, will allowing audiences to communicate directly with producers to fully be part of the TV experience - from behind the scenes and pre-production to delivery across multi-platform. The projects which will showcase new talent as well as familiar faces, is set to bring a much needed boost to the Scottish creative industry, with over 100+ new jobs and over 3,000 training opportunities.

Speaking about the launch of the new Braw TV Studios, co-founder and executive producer of Bad Pony Media Productions in Glasgow Frank McGowan, said: "we're thrilled to announce the roll out of Braw TV services in 2022," he said. "Coronavirus saw some unique challenges, but by collaborating with other content creators across the global entertainment industry, we're looking forward to reaching audiences who have been waiting for this, and putting Scotland on the map globally."

The project, which was originally titled "Bad Pony TV" was concieved in 2012 by producers from Bad Pony Media, and through funding from local government began development again after the project went into hiatus in 2015 following the frontpage news of producer" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Frank McGowan being assaulted in a homophobic attack which left him with PTSD.

Teasers and promos are expected at the end of the summer. For more details please email [email protected]

A new half-hour TV show that was filmed during lockdown in GLASGOW is set to promote the work of writers and entrepreneurs “doing good” in their local community via FACEBOOK.

Production on THE AUTHORS SERIES had stalled after just a few episodes due to the pandemic - however, BAFTA celebrated producer/director FRANK McGOWAN decided to showcase the episodes via social media and make them interactive.

McGowan, (38), said: “These authors have such amazing stories, and the journey which has brought them to where they are now doing great things in their community is just so inspiring. We’re looking forward to filming more episodes as soon as we’re able to get back into the studio, and have decided to keep the interactive format which features clips from viewers at home telling us about the books they love.”

Episode one with STEPHEN GILLEN airs tonight at 8pm via The Authors Series page on Facebook (search “The Authors Series”), and will be accompanied by a live Q&A with director FRANK McGOWAN and presenter CHRISTINE CORBETT. Gillen talks in-depth about his global best-selling book THE MONKEY PUZZLE TREE, which is already set to be a major motion picture directed by KIERAN SUCHET and shares his own personal story of redemption and transformation, going from the streets of Belfast during the troubles to his life now as a global thought leader and peace ambassador.

"It was great coming to Glasgow," said ex-gangster Gillen, "it's a great city with great people - and we had a lot of fun with the team from The Authors Series, and look forward to seeing the finished episode and more collaborations."

The show is produced by multi-award-winning film and TV Production Company BAD PONY MEDIA, who are part of a team behind the launch of the new global Scottish Braw TV channel - which although delayed to a 2021 launch, boasts an elite new line-up of programming from Scotland. Upcoming episodes of “The Authors Series” include Scottish writer/producer M.J. Martin – author of ‘Evil Is’, and Amazon best-selling author Wendy Andrew - who penned ‘How to Recover from Pet Loss’ during the first lockdown to help those grieving the death of a beloved companion animal. Episodes are presented by CHRISTINE CORBETT and ANDY COWLE.

Christine Corbett, said: “The show has so many amazing guests and stories. You won’t want to miss it.”
